A COOKERY book crammed with healthy recipes is to be produced in an east Durham village thanks to a grant.
Residents of Wheatley Hill are working with the Healthy Communities Collaborative to produce a book with nutritious but affordable recipes, supplied by the village's Mothers' Club. Project manager Karen Smith said: "The meals included will be chosen for their nutritional value and low cost."
Proceeds from the book, backed by a £500 grant from the North Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op, will be used to promote healthy eating in the village.
