CHILDREN from the North-East chatted to Father Christmas in cyberspace yesterday.
Pupils from Abbey Junior School, Darlington, won a competition to put their questions to Santa while he prepares for Christmas.
The event took place at the town's Carmel RC Technology College on an interactive screen using video conference technology.
Abbey school deputy headteacher John Chesterton said: "They were so excited when they set off in the morning, and it was a great success.
"They were just in year three, so they are the perfect age to appreciate it.
"The kids just seemed to accept how advanced the technology was, but it was really impressive.
"It was brilliant and all the children went up in Santa hats and everyone finished with a version of Jingle Bells."
Fifteen youngsters were invited to the school and asked Santa ten questions.
They included: "Why do you not give presents to my grandparents? How do you deliver presents all round the world? and How do you know if we have been good?
