LOCAL music website www.dognoise.co.uk will be presenting their second exciting excursion into gig promotion this Tuesday at Darlington's The Forum Music Centre. Headlining is Sunderland band The Golden Virgins, fresh from a national tour to promote their single Renaissance kid. To promote their latest album Songs of Praise, the lads played at Glastonbury, T in the Park and the Leeds and Reading festivals, having become one of several bands from the North-East to be signed to a major label in the last two years. In 2002 the four-piece signed to the famous XL Recordings (home to The White Stripes and Prodigy) and have media interest in their "soulful and fragile" sound. Also on the bill are The Shining, popular local rock band playing acoustic covers and originals; Uncle Travelling Mat, featuring members of Solanoid and Fude in an exciting new side-project, and up-beat, tune-smiths Lifetime Skiver. Stu Drummond from Dognoise says: "We're really excited to have The Golden Virgins playing at the Dognoise Christmas Party. Pre-booking tickets is well advised.
