A SINGLE mother-of-two was jailed for six months yesterday for dealing in the drug ecstasy.
Gail Jones, 35, was caught in possession of 26 ecstasy tablets as she entered Silks nightclub in Redcar on April 30.
Teesside Crown Court was told that she was stopped and searched by police officers, who had been acting on a tip-off.
Jones, of Blakey Close, Redcar, east Cleveland, admitted possession with intent to supply ecstasy, possession of ecstasy and possession of 6.27g of cannabis resin.
Detective Sergeant Mick Knapper, of Cleveland police, said: "This should send a message to others considering dealing in ecstasy because they think it is a soft drug.
"This is a single mother who has never been in trouble with the police before, who will be spending Christmas in jail.
"It emphasises that any person involved in the supply of drugs at any level runs a real risk of being sent to prison."
