TWO North-East clubbers voted top movers on the dance floor will join the cast of a musical this week.
Laura Barr, 18, from Richmond, North Yorkshire, and Michael Harriott, from Heat-on, Newcastle, were crowned king and queen of disco in a competition run by Metro Radio.
The pair showed off their winning moves at the Baja Beach Club, in Gateshead, at the event, which was held in conjunction with hit 1970s' show Oh! What a Night, which will be staged at the Metro Radio Arena on Friday and Saturday.
They are now preparing to join the cast of the acclaimed musical, which features classic 1970s' tunes such as I Will Survive and YMCA.
Miss Barr, who studies art in Darlington, said: "I was dar-ed by friends to enter the competition and never thought I would actually win."
Tickets for the shows, which start at 7.30pm, are £23.
The box office can be contacted on 0870 707 8000.
