INCREASES in allowances paid to the 17 members of Cleveland Police Authority will be debated this week.
The authority's standards scrutiny learning and feedback committee will consider the subject on Wednesday.
The existing deal pays members £7,500 a year while the chairman and vice-chairman pick up £15,000 and £11,250 respectively.
Committee members could decide to recommend no increase or could agree the increase in accordance with pay awards to police support staff.
It could result in a basic allowance of just under £8,000.
