A TREE was lit up in Darlington market square yesterday celebrating the lives of people's loved ones this Christmas.
St Teresa's Hospice asked residents from the town to dedicate a light on the tree in memory of somebody special.
The dedication and tree lighting ceremony took place at 3pm and the Hurworth Concert Band performed a series of hymns.
All donations received for dedications will go directly to the hospice, which provides support to people across County Durham and North Yorkshire.
