Spennymoor manager Graeme Clark admitted that his team "deserved nothing" after they were beaten 3-0 at Wakefield on Saturday.
"We didn't start the game at all," he said. "We never got involved and never really competed.
"Some of our players are still learning the game, and it showed."
Moors went a goal down when Wayne Bennett scored with a volley from the edge of the area, and then Adam Muller got the second from the spot on the hour after a foul by Micky Gough.
Moors then had a good spell of pressure with chances falling to Tommy Raw and Micky Oliver, but it was all over when Steve Kenworthy scored the third near the end.
Bishop Auckland failed to build on an early lead at home to Leek Town and went down 3-1.
Bishops took the lead when Micky Taylor's shot was parried by the visiting keeper and Mark Sheeran turned the ball home.
But poor defending allowed Darryl Proffitt to chip Kevin Wolfe for the equaliser on 20 minutes, and then Dean Butterworth scored from close range.
Bishops looked as if they might get back into the game in the second half, but Phil Hadland - once of Darlington - finished them off from a rebound.
The gap between Bishops and safety is now seven points because Blyth won 2-0 at home to Radcliffe Borough.
Steve Preen put Blyth in front, then recent signing Scott Bell got the second after the break.
The match was delayed for an hour because of a floodlight problem.
Gateshead are still next to bottom because of a 2-2 draw at home to Bamber Bridge. They trailed 2-0 at one point but goals from Mark Atkinson and John Huntley rescued a point.
Whitby are now unbeaten in 15 games after they drew 1-1 at Matlock, David Pounder scoring their goal.
