PUPILS yesterday put the finishing touches to a drama club's first pantomime.
The Performing Arts after-hours club at Cestria Primary School, in Church Chare, Chester-le-Street, is performing Cinders, a musical pantomime version of the classic Cinderella fairytale.
Deputy headteacher Sarah Barningham, who arranged the production, said: "This is the first production by the club, but it has gone down really well.
"The children have really enjoyed it, they are enthusiastic and love performing in front of an audience. It has really lifted their confidence."
The 55 youngsters, who are all in years five and six, take to the stage this afternoon, then perform again to an audience of family members this evening.
