A NATURE haven will have a special guest this weekend for a festive family event.
Ferryhill Carrs, in Ferryhill, County Durham, will hold a winter walk on Sunday morning, which will lead children to Santa Claus.
The walk, around part of the 22-hectare wetland, woodland and grassland site, will give participants a chance to keep fit and be creative.
During the Santa trail, youngsters will be asked to turn natural and recycled objects into Christmas decorations at craft workshops.
Anyone interested in taking part is asked to meet at the entrance of Ferryhill Carrs, which can be found by following the public footpath from the junction of Cleves Avenue and Wood Lane, by 11am.
An adult should accompany all children under 16 and everyone is advised to wear warm, waterproof clothes and footwear.
For details call Jim Nutt, Sedgefield Borough Council's walking to health officer, on (01388) 816166, extension 4630.
