IT may be based on a US TV show, but this video game owes more to the mean streets of Middlesbrough than Miami.
Miami Vice takes its name from the 1980s police drama, and is the latest release from award-winning Atomic Planet Entertainment, the video games development studio in Teesside.
But with levels and characters closely resembling the style and fashions of Miami 20 years ago, few gamers will realise the scenes were made in the streets of Middlesbrough.
With the exception of the main characters, everyone in the game is modelled on Atomic Planet staff.
Lead artist Joe Bradford said: "We wanted to make the game a little more interesting by adding real faces to the characters."
The game, which is available for PC CD-ROM and Playstation2, features 16 missions based on the TV show, which starred Don Johnson.
