A ROYAL Air Force officer has graduated from college.
Flying Officer Liz Elleson, from Belmont, Durham, completed an officer training course at RAF Cranwell, in Lincolnshire.
The graduates paraded outside the college hall and there were flypasts by a Tornado F3 from RAF Leeming and a Harrier GR7.
Their course involved physical training, ground defence work, leadership and management skills and operational and air experience.
Miss Elleson, 23, whose parents, Ken and Veronica, still live in Belmont, attended Durham Johnson Comprehensive School before graduating from Loughborough University.
After working with Durham Police she joined the RAF in May and will now start training as an air traffic controller.
She said: "I feel extremely proud and honoured to be graduating as an officer with the Royal Air Force."
