WEIGHTWatchers in a north Durham town have shed about four tonnes in their bid to be slim.
Anne Lawson and Janet Hughes, who have led four of the six meetings in Chester-le-Street, have been given outstanding excellence awards for helping members reach their targets in their weight.
The six meetings in the town have lost 9,000lbs and have also raised more than £3,000 for charities in the past year.
Among the success stories were Christine Dobson, who lost 50lbs and Susan Davidson who lost 106lbs. Both completed the Walk for Life at Saltwell Park, Gateshead, to raise £300.
Other WeightWatchers pleased with their progress were Carol Doak, who lost 86lb, Julie Tait, who lost 50lb and Kim Proud who shed 50lbs.
Mrs Hughes said the local Costcutters had helped by stocking a wide variety of WeightWatcher products.
