A TEENAGE schoolgirl is fast becoming a local radio star.
Laura Turner, a 13-year-old from Northallerton, recorded a community commercial for her Girl Guide pack at the start of trial broadcasts for Northallerton FM 107.5.
Station bosses were so impressed they asked her to co-present the breakfast show on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Station manager and co-presenter Richard Wyeth said: "Laura has a lovely, clear voice and has stepped up from script reading to promote the Girl Guides, to an early start at the radio station on our peak show. She is making good in-roads to any career choices she may make."
The station goes off-air on Saturday after a month's trial, but will be available online at www.northallertonfm.com
