POLICE are hunting for vandals who damaged heating vents at a Darlington nursery - leaving babies and toddlers in the cold.
It was the second time in three weeks the same heating vent at the Play Hut, a nursery school in North Road, was vandalised.
Both crimes happened at about 6pm or 6.30pm on a Tuesday evening, the latest was two days ago.
Inspector Alison Jackson, of Darlington Police, said: "We are linking the incidents because they happened at around the same time three weeks apart, and in both cases the offenders have tried to pull the same bit of piping out of the wall. They would have had to climb up to reach it.
"If anybody has seen anything, please get in touch."
The crime is being treated as criminal damage.
