THERE is still more than a week to go before Christmas but one of North Yorkshire's leading attractions is already onto its second tree.
However, the celebrations at the World of James Herriot centre did start early this year with the first tree going up at the end of October.
The Thirsk centre kicked off its celebrations early as part of a tourism link-up with the Wensleydale Railway, which brought hundreds of trippers to both attractions.
With the Christmas season now well under way, the old tree was beginning to look threadbare so a new one has gone up.
The tree completes a 1940s' Christmas look at the centre with no lights or tinsel, reflecting those austere times.
However, there is still a festive flavour, which has been achieved by crepe paper, baubles and unlit candles.
