A WOMAN was punched twice in the face by a robber who then snatched her bag.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the robbery in a car park in Billingham, Teesside, shortly before 5pm on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old victim had returned to her Ford Mondeo on the ground floor of the Kingsway car park, Queens-way. Once in her car, she placed her bag on her lap and closed the door. But just as she was about the leave, a man knocked on her window and asked for time.
She wound the window down to reply and it is alleged he hit her twice in the face, leaving her shaken and with a cut lip and bruised cheek.
The man, who was in his mid-20s and wearing a deer- stalker hat, took her black, sports rucksack and ran away.
Police want to speak to any witnesses, but particularly a woman in a burgundy Peugeot 206 parked next to the victim. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Guy Newnam at Stockton CID, on (01642) 302226.
