WEAR Valley District Council has deferred a decision on whether to ballot its tenants over the future of its housing stock.
The council has agreed to set up an arms length management organisation which, it says, is the best way to improve its 5,400 homes.
The not-for-profit organisation will let homes, collect rents and repair and modernise properties.
On Wednesday, the housing committee agreed a timetable to set up the organisation but postponed a separate vote on the ballot issue.
