A PLAN to build two detached homes in a village has sparked objections and a strong recommendation for refusal.
The plan would see the dormer bungalows being built on land at Back Lane, Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon.
But planning officer Mike Warden said the development, within in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, would conflict with Harrogate Borough Council policy and the recently agreed Village Design Statement.
Mr Warden also said the "suburban designer dormer bungalows" would be out of character with other properties in Back Lane and would not count as affordable homes.
Kirkby Malzeard Parish Councl said the majority of its councillors opposed the plan and there were individual objections.
Harrogate council's area planning committee will consider the plan on Tuesday.
