WHO ate all the pies? It seems people at a national food fair did, for local supplier Taste Tradition, launched from a farm at Cold Kirby, near Thirsk, completely sold out the event's first day.
It was the same on the firm's first outing, at the Dales Festival of Food and Drink at Leyburn, in May, where it sold out of pies each day too.
This success prompted mother and son, Joyce and Charles Ashbridge, to take their products, which include burgers and bacon, to the five-day BBC Food show held at the Birmingham Exhibition Centre.
Mr Ashbridge said: "This was a learning curve, a show which didn't just feature food, but utensils and equipment too.
"The pies went well again, but the people their must have different tastes because our burgers went exceptionally well too."
Success of the product was due, said Mr Ashbridge, to the fact that all their products, launched in January from Mount Grace Farm, are made from rare-breed home fed meat.
"There is a much better, stronger flavour from our meat," said Mrs Ashbridge.
With Mr Ashbridge's father, John, the farm breeds beef, pigs and sheep.
