A SCHOOLGIRL'S design was chosen for this year's official Durham Constabulary Christmas card.
All local primary schools were invited to take part in a competition to draw up a card.
The winning entry came from 10-year-old Jenny Hall, a pupil at St Josephs RC School in Stanley.
Her design, chosen out of hundreds submitted, has a Merry Christmas banner and features a reindeer, who is wearing a police helmet, urging his fellow reindeer not to speed as 'we have all night to deliver the presents.'
Chief Constable Paul Garvin presented Jenny with her prize - a brand new 18-gear, purple mountain bike.
In addition the school received £100 worth of vouchers that can be used to buy painting or other art materials.
