A PARISH councillor has resigned from her post because of an increase in home and work commitments.
Councillor Holly White had been a member of Heighington Parish Council for less than a year.
She joined in February and lives on the Chestnuts development in School Aycliffe, an area which was previously unrepresented on the council.
At a meeting on Thursday, councillors said the position would be advertised.
In a letter, Coun White said: "I have enjoyed my time on the parish council and would like to rejoin the council in the future should commitments allow."
