A £400,000 household recycling centre opens today.
The household recycling centre, at Carlin Howe Farm, Dunsdale, near Guisborough, east Cleveland, is the second in the area.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council created the site following the success of the Warrenby recycling centre.
Councillor Bob Stanway said: "This centre is modern with easy access and we are expecting it to be as well used as the site in Warrenby.
"Recycling is becoming a way of life in this borough and we are providing improved facilities and services for residents."
As well as dealing with household items, the centres will recycle Christmas trees.
