TRADERS in Spennymoor could be eligible to receive grants to make improvements to their shops.
As part of a bid to generate investment and brighten up the area, Sedgefield Borough Council's town centre programme has two grant schemes available.
One grant scheme can pay up to £20,000 to enable shop owners to improve windows, fascia, signs, disabled access and more.
Smaller grants for improving shop fronts are also available up to £1,500 to match investment by the shop owner.
For more information about the grants contact Wendy Benson, town centre manager, on (01325) 307270.
