A SMALL North-East airfreight company has announced plans to expand after surviving major changes in its industry.

It hopes to take advantage of multi-million pound investment in the airport after announcing plans to move into larger offices in the airport's Air Cargo Terminal, upgrading its computer system and improving its customs clearance.
Durham Tees Valley's operators are spending £40m on its infrastructure following the change of name from Teesside Airport, including building a new passenger terminal, a business park and cargo village for freight flights.
Managing director Kevin Shakesheff said: "Obviously, our investment is a fraction of that, but customers will recognise immediate benefits from the planned upgrades in accommodation, computer hardware and software, and in extra staff."
