A Darlington trader is playing a part in the success of an indoor market.
Dave Patterson, from Darlington, has started selling second-hand computers, televisions and accessories at the indoor market at Richmond after being made redundant from his job at a warehouse.
"Richmond is a very friendly place to trade and there is a lot of comradeship between traders," he said.
His stall is among six new regulars at the market, which has extended its opening hours in the run-up to Christmas.
Others specialise in African jewellery, ladies' fashions, wildlife prints, CDs, and cards.
The indoor market is open from 8am to 3pm until Christmas Eve, when it stays open until 8pm. It will also be open from December 28 to 31.
