A Christmas concert by Durham Constabulary's brass band and male voice choir raised £2,100 for Willow Burn Hospice in Lanchester.
The performance took place at police headquarters on Saturday and included a wide-ranging musical programme and a finale of community carol singing.
The four-bed hospice, in the grounds of the old Maiden Law hospital, provides 24-hour specialist nursing care for patients requiring respite and terminal care.
Home care services are available and the hospice can be contacted day or night for advice and support.
Money raised will go towards the hospice's ongoing appeal to extend its facilities and services with the provision of an extra ward.
The band and choir perform concerts throughout the region for a variety of good causes.
Bookings can be made by writing to band secretary John Morrison or choir secretary Steve Taylor at Police Headquarters, Aykley Heads, Durham City, DH1 5TT, but need to be arranged about a year in advance
