FORMER Darlington FC chairman George Reynolds has been warned by police after he allegedly made nuisance phone calls to his wife.
He was visited by officers at his Durham home after his wife, Susan, made a complaint against him.
It is understood the couple are living apart after the sale of their £7m home, Witton Hall, at Witton-le-Wear, County Durham.
A police spokesman said: "We received a complaint from a woman that she had been the subject of nuisance phone calls.
"The man alleged to have been responsible has been spoken to by officers and offered advice about his behaviour."
Mr Reynolds, who amassed a fortune manufacturing kitchen worktops, married Susan in Gleneagles, Scotland.
He took over the Quakers in 1999, but stepped down in January after the club went into administration.
