A MAN who snatched a bag containing dvds and computer games from a teenager was yesterday jailed.
But the eight-month sentence, plus 133 days unexpired part of a previous jail term, means Paul Ramshaw will be released almost immediately on licence, because of the time he has spent in custody since the offence, in April.
Ramshaw, 21, of Braithwaite Road, Peterlee, east Durham, was initially charged with robbery following the incident on April 16.
He denied robbery, but admitted theft of a bag from a 16-year-old youth in Peterlee town centre.
The prosecution accepted the guilty plea to theft and did not proceed with the robbery charge.
Durham Crown Court heard the bag contained two dvds and a pair of Gameboy computer games.
