VILLAGERS are appealing to motorists to think about where they park before leaving their vehicles in dangerous or inconvenient places.
Sedgefield Residents Forum Disability Group says indiscriminate parking in the village is posing problems for disabled people and young families.
The village's Road Safety Group has also received complaints about cars and tradesmen's vehicles parking on pavements - forcing wheelchair users and parents with prams to move onto the road to "dance with death".
Problem areas highlighted by the two groups are Station Road, Durham Road, Woodland Mews, near the village centre shops and at the junction between Spring Lane and West End which blocks the view for other drivers.
Roy Smeeton, of the Road Safety Group said some drivers were blocking lowered curbs or disabled parking bays. He urged them to be more considerate.
