ANIMAL lovers and their dogs will brave the North Sea on New Year's Day in an annual sponsored splash.
Members of Saltburn Animal Rescue Association (Sara) will make the dip at Saltburn beach.
The fundraising event has grown more popular over the years and raised funds towards a a sanctuary in east Cleveland.
Sara chairwoman Anne Prosser said: "Please come along and support us, whether you can join in with a sponsored dip or just come along and watch the fun.
"Don't forget to bring your pets as well, they really enjoy themselves."
Sponsor forms are available by ringing the Sara Helpline, Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm, on (01287) 201005, or by visiting www.s-a-r-a.org.uk
As New Year's Day falls on the first Saturday of the month, when the service usually holds its monthly dog viewing, this will now be held, for January only, on the following Saturday.
This is a very popular event and many animals have been re-homed as a result over the past year.
Hot refreshments will be available.
Sara's next monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 5, at Albion Terrace, Saltburn.
