A COUNTY Durham surveyor with more than 30 year's experience has been given an international role with his professional organisation.

David Coulson, senior partner at Broadley and Couldon, in Crook, has been appointed vice-chairman of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' International Rural Faculty.

This will give him a key role in the work of a board responsible for rural assets, rural land management and rent and lease reviews as well as auctioneering, valuation and compensation.

He also serves on the RICS regional board and is chairman of the northern group of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.

Mr Coulson lives in Wolsingham with his wife Angela and two children.

He joined S Addison and Son in Crook in 1973 as assistant to partner Tom Broadley, forming the Broadley and Coulson partnership in 1984.
