THE winners of The Northern Echo's Christmas competition celebrated as they collected their prizes.
They won the prizes after taking part in a festive contest which the newspaper's classified section has run for the past 14 years.
Their names were picked out of the hat to win in the competition, which is supported by A1 Motor Stores, of Darlington.
Winners were Margaret Russell, of Ushaw Moor, Durham, who received a boys' bike; Dorothy Veitch, of Sedgefield, County Durham, who won a rocking horse; Rhonda Walton, of Darlington, who won an adult bike; Chris Whitton, of Langley Park, Durham, who received a remote-controlled aeroplane; and W Corner, of Coxhoe, who won diecast model cars.
