CHILDCARE students have designed a uniform to wear for work experience.
The students at Stockton Riverside College hope the uniform will give them a clear identity while at work.
Staff at Elizabeth's Embroidery helped design the uniform, which includes a logo.
Students took part in a competition to design the logo. Jane Hardy, course tutor, said that the college wanted to raise the profile of the course.
She said: "With our childcare students spending time on placement and on course-related activities away from the college premises, we wanted to do something to both raise our profile and reflect our professional standards."
Laura Matthews, 18, from Norton, was selected as the winner, with Emily Moore, from Norton, and Pascalle Hatfield, from Eaglescliffe, as runners-up.
Paul Halligan, of Elizabeth's Embroidery in Richardson Street, Stockton, praised the students.
He said: "The designs were of a particularly high standard and all were suitable for going into production."
