A WOMAN was left with a broken shoulder and face injuries after a row in a takeaway shop.
Police believe the 27-year-old woman was pushed to the floor by a man she was with in Best Kebab, Northgate, Darlington, at about midnight on Thursday evening.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and later released on police bail.
Acting Inspector Alison Jackson, of Darlington police, said: "There was an altercation between the female and the gentleman that we had in custody, during which I believe she's been pushed by him.
"She's fallen to the floor and sustained the injuries."
The woman was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Shop assistant Kathleen Oakley said: "They came in together but they'd had too much to drink."
