PUPILS were invited to an open day to celebrate Stockton International Family Centre's Christmas Community Learning Event.
A group of year five and year six pupils from Bowesfield Primary School volunteered to sing carols at the Richard Hind site as part of an event to promote educational achievement.
The event was funded by Parkfield and Mill Lane Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder and co-ordinated by Stockton Borough Council's Education Service.
Vikki Turner, a support worker who has been working with the children, said the singers gave a wonderful performance.
She said: "With just a few days to go before Christmas, it was a pleasure to see the children give up their time to add to the party atmosphere."
Residents were able to see the timetable of events and learning opportunities available in the new year including computing, holistic therapies, healthy eating and gentle exercise. Places are still available.
