MORE than 100 young people from around the region have joined forces to produce a calendar for the coming year.
Children worked with community-based artists to produce the calendar on the theme of Belonging To My Community.
Among the groups which took part were young asylum seekers who were forced to flee their homelands in Africa.
The project was devised by the North-East Youth Assembly and funded with a £2,000 grant from the North Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op.
Co-op regional board member Chris Dawson presented the grant to assembly officer Kirsty Beeston at a youth work unit in Felling, Gateshead.
