AN award-winning public lavatory has won yet another national honour.
The only 'superloo' in the Hambleton district has been crowned as a five-star facility in the National Loo of the Year awards for the second year running.
The loo, on the Applegarth, Northallerton, also won one of the Attendants of the Year prizes.
The competition sees toilets across the Britain vetted anonymously. The Applegarth loos are the only attendant-operated toilets in Hambleton and a 20p charge is levied for each visit. They opened two years ago to replace a 27-year-old block.
Cabinet member for the environment John Morley said: "They took a five-star rating last year, the first time the council had received such a high rating, so to maintain that is a great tribute to the work of the people who run them."
Three Star awards went to the public loos in Swainby and Osmotherley.
