A COUPLE have celebrated their first Christmas with their miracle baby.
Brave mother Kimberly Anderson, 22, who fought a long double cancer battle, astounded medical experts when she gave birth to a healthy son on January 22, this year.
She had been told she would never conceive after undergoing intensive chemotherapy during a childhood battle against first leukaemia and then cancer of the kidneys.
But Connor Anderson-Patterson was perfectly healthy when he arrived 11 months ago and his parent have enjoyed a Christmas they feared would never happen.
Ms Anderson, of Hebburn, South Tyneside, said: "Connor has been a lovely baby without any health problems. He's always laughing and is a good sleeper.
"We still take him for checks the health centre, but he's been fine since he was born.
"This is a great Christmas for us and the baby."
