A HEADTEACHER who left a school for a final time to retire has been given a suprise farewell party.
More than 200 people, including family, friends and colleagues packed into the Demi Club in Consett to celebrate the career of Ted Young.
Mr Young, 58, started his career as a teacher at St Patrick's RC Primary School, in Consett, in 1969, and has returned to it time and time again in his career.
