A lifeboatman with more than 45 years service has had his dedication to duty recognised.
James Wright, of Staithes and Runswick Lifeboat Stations, in North Yorkshire, has been awarded the RNLI silver statue for his service.
Mr Wright, 63, first volunteered in 1959 as a launcher of the Runswick boat. He moved to work at Staithes lifeboat station in 1978.
He is now a member of the management committee and deputy launch authority.
