A Victorian funfair is giving modern-day shoppers a sample of a bygone era.
The fair, at St Thomas Church, in front of Newcastle Civic Centre, opened yesterday and runs through to tomorrow. It features a colourful carousel, a helter-skelter, swing boats and side shows, plus two wagonettes, offering rides pulled by shire horses from Beamish Farm, County Durham.
