NEW Year's Eve revellers would like to see in 2005 at the Sage Gateshead music venue, according to a survey.
The survey, by a credit card firm, said that 44 per cent of people in the region believe the ideal place to celebrate would be the new multi-million pound music centre.
But 28 per cent said they "can't be bothered'' going out on New Year's Eve because of drink prices and crowds.
The average amount per person spent on New Year's Eve in the North-East is £56.64, but this rises to £133 for the 25 to 34-year-old age group.
