A WOMAN killed in a Christmas Day road accident in the North-East was yesterday named as 25-year-old Leanne Dickson.
She was a passenger in a Toyota Yaris that lost control travelling south on the A696, about a mile-and-a-half north of Ponteland, in Northumberland.
It collided with a wall and tree, causing multiple injuries from which Mrs Dickson, of Brierley Gardens, Otterburn, Northumberland, died later in hospital.
Police accident investigators said the car, driven by a 28-year-old man, may have lost control on ice prior to the collision.
The road was closed for an hour-and-a-half after the accident, at about 5am last Saturday.
Witnesses are asked to contact Northumbria Police on (01661) 872555, extension 61474
