VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help introduce right to roam legislation.
North Yorkshire County Council has set up a Countryside Service and part of its role is to help the open access rules run smoothly from their introduction in May.
The council is looking for volunteers to patrol the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
County councillor John Fort, executive member for environmental services, said: "The county council's new Countryside Service wants to make sure that this new right is introduced as smoothly as possible, so we're recruiting volunteers to patrol the open access areas in the AONB and offer help to the public as well as farmers and landowners."
Training will take place in Pateley Bridge early in the New Year.
