EASINGTON District Council has retained its Investors in People status for another three years.
The council, rated as excellent by the Audit Commission, again secured the IIP award, which is given to organisations that are committed to staff development and improvement.
Assistant chief executive Ian Forster said: "The council was evaluated over two days and the assessor was extremely impressed with the progress the council has made in the last couple of years.
"He gave us some exceptionally positive feedback at the end of the two days. He felt we were very strong on all four main elements of IIP.
"These are commitment, planning, action and evaluation.''
Mr Forster said the assessor felt that the council was on its way to achieving the new IIP standard launched earlier this year, which has extra requirements.
