A netball team is feeling champion after winning a borough-wide competition.
The Cumby, of Heighington, has clinched the Ferryhill Leisure Centre Winter Netball League title.
Six teams competed in the nine-week league and The Cumby were the runaway league winners as they claimed maximum points. Tudhoe Grange 1, from Spennymoor, were runners-up suffering only two defeats - both against the champion side.
All six teams are eagerly awaiting the Spring League which gets under way on Wednesday, January 19.
The netball league is organised by Ferryhill Leisure Centre's assistant manager Peter Kirtly who would welcome teams from across Sedgefield borough to join the contest. For details, call (01740) 654 121.
