CATHOLIC families in the Consett area have joined forces with Derwentside College to organise a course for people hoping to trace their ancestors.
Derwentside Catholic Family History Society has organised the free five-week course in partnership with the college.
The course will take place at Our Lady Of The Rosary Church Hall, Shotley Bridge, and is open to parishioners from across the West Derwentside Catholic Partnership area, covering Consett, Blackhill, Shotley Bridge and Moorside.
The course, which shows how to trace ancestors using English and Irish records, begins on Monday, January 17, and continues with two-hour sessions every Monday, starting at 7pm.
