PEOPLE living in Darlington borough can begin recycling their Christmas trees today.
People can recycle their trees by taking them to several venues in the borough until January 14.
All decorations and lights should be removed.
The trees will be collected by the borough council and chipped.
Tree recycling points in Darlington are: South Park, Bedford Street entrance; Homebase, Darlington Retail Park; Woodburn Nursery, Salutation Road; B&Q, Whessoe Road; Sugar Hill Park, Prior Street entrance; the civic amenity site, off Whessoe Road; Eastbourne Park; Gardeners Barn, off Albert Road and Rockwell Pastures.
Trees can also be taken to Water Park, Middleton St George; Hurworth Grange Community Centre and Heighington Village Hall car park.
Christmas cards can be taken to recycling points at WH Smith and Tesco as part of the national Recycle Now scheme.
