BUSINESS Link Tees Valley has expanded its information and communication technology (ICT) team.
PAUL SMITH has joined the organisation as ICT technical support, and LEE SOMERFIELD has joined as ICT trainer.
Mr Smith graduated in 1999 from the University of Teesside with an HND in computing.
Since then, he has been an IT engineer at the University of Teesside's IT response unit and IT systems administrator at the TAD Centre, Hotel and Conference Centre. In 2001 he gained accreditation from Microsoft for Windows 2000.
His role at Business Link will involve IT administration, helpdesk support, setting up equipment, systems integration research and evaluation of software.
The organisation has more than 50 staff that are mobile workers and there is an increasing demand for support.
Mr Somerfield is also a graduate of the University of Teesside and after gaining a BA (Hons) in business studies, he became an IT Trainer for Billingham based ClickHere. He trained people in MS Office, MS Project and DreamWeaver web design as well as IT qualifications such as ECDL and CLAIT.
He spent two years with Sunderland NHS as an IT trainer.
His role at Business Link will involve carrying out training on various ICT applications, in order to raise the general ICT skill levels throughout the entire organisation.
